![]() What's more is that Lycanroc's Midnight form has access to some tutor moves that its Midday and Dusk forms do not, most notably it has access to both Thunder Punch and Fire Punch (stronger than Thunder and Fire Fang which Lycanroc's other forms are still forced to use). I guess we should be thankful now that move tutors are available again in Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon because Midnight Lycanroc really lucked out by getting some moves that give it stronger coverage (a problem it had as its previous coverage options were too weak). What's more is that it doesn't even get Accelerock (which only its Midday form has access to), which might have given it some sort of chance, and is instead stuck with getting. I suppose that it can serve as a powerful attacker with Choice Band, but at that point it's hard to justify using Lycanroc Midnight form over most other offensive Rock-types, especially over something like Tyranitar or Tyrantrum (both of which while even slower than Lycanroc midnight form make up for it by having higher attack and much better defense stats). That's especially bad when you take No Guard's nasty secondary effect into account where it guarantees that every attack thrown Lycanroc's way will always hit it (and it doesn't necessarily have the defenses to tank powerful attacks). It's such a shame that Lycanroc's Midnight form could not get access to other powerful moves with low accuracy. While having No Guard as its hidden ability means that it can spam Stone Edge without it missing, but that's really all it really has going for it. To make matters worse is that it's got an awkward speed stat of 82, this makes it too slow to handle strong and speedy opponents (although had it gotten better defenses, it might've just made it passable) and makes it too fast to consider using it under Trick Room. What's more is that with it being slower, Midnight Lycanroc no longer outspeeds a huge portion of the metagame. Statwise some of Midnight's form's moved from its speed to its defenses, which means absolutely nothing since it's still too frail to tank any strong hits. I personally find the design of its Midnight form pretty cool overall (especially since it is our very first Werewolf Pokemon), and I just love the trolly smirk on its face along with that movement its sprite makes where it's basically saying "come at me, bro." XD i./gInQdEV.gifĬool appearances aside, when you compare it with its Midday and Dusk forms, Lycanroc's Midnight form, unfortunately, got the short end of the stick. Here we have Lycanroc's Midnight form, taking on a more sinister and werewolf-like appearance.
